Sandton Fun Factory's financial literacy programme has received international recognition for teaching preschool children about money management.
Developed with Discovery Bank and researchers, the programme teaches saving, budgeting, donating and banking through lessons, stories and educational activities.
The initiative has reached hundreds of nursery schools across South Africa and provides training for teachers.
The programme has also been selected for further international recognition in Paris later this year.

Grade-8 learners from Jeppe High School for Boys are helping to clean and maintain public spaces in Johannesburg through an ongoing community outreach project.

Knysna march marks 9 years since fires

Residents of Knysna will take part in a commemorative march on 27 June to mark nine years since the 2017 fires that affected the town and surrounding areas.
Organised by Knysna Fire Services, the event will honour those who lost their lives and recognise the work of firefighters, volunteers and emergency responders.
The march will begin at 10am on Main Road and end at Clyde Street.
The event also reflects on the community-led recovery efforts that helped rebuild the region after the disaster.
