A KwaZulu Natal woman has pushed beyond her comfort zone to complete a demanding hike up Sani Pass in honour of children battling cancer.
Debbie Riggien took on the Sunflower Sky Hike, navigating icy conditions, steep climbs and rugged terrain during the early morning ascent.
Riggien, who is involved with the Rainbows and Smiles childhood cancer support network, covered around seven kilometres to reach the Lesotho border gate, marking her second participation in the event.
Along the route, she placed memorial stones to honour young cancer warriors.
The hike was aimed at raising awareness and support for children and families affected by cancer.
