The JRA eases the process for residents to request traffic calming measures

Johannesburg Road Agency has simplified the process to request speed humps and traffic calming measures.

The process is ideal for Sandton residents who are keen to improve safety in their neighbourhoods.

The online e-petition portal is now the first step towards initiating the improvements, which will be assessed by the Johannesburg Roads Agency, to determine the suitability of the area for traffic calming measures.

The assessments are based on criteria as outlined in the South African Road Traffic Signs Manual and the City of Johannesburg's Traffic Policy.

South Africa receives top honours at the Pan African Mathematics Olympiad

Six learners from high schools across South Africa took top accolades at the Pan African Mathematics Olympiad which was held at the University of Botswana last week.

The event was hosted by the Mathematical Association of Botswana in Botswana.

The South African team claimed medals in the individual as well as group categories.

This year's competition focused on testing the young minds across six problems, including algebra, geometry and number theory.
