South Africa’s team delivered an exceptional showing at the Pan African Mathematics Olympiad, securing top individual medals and the overall first-place ranking, at the University of Botswana.

The national team delivered an outstanding performance reaffirming the country’s reputation as a leader in mathematical excellence in Africa.

Among the standout performers was Thato Mokoena, a Grade 12 learner from Pretoria, who was awarded one of the highest individual scores in the competition, earning a Gold Medal and special commendation from the PAMO jury.
