South African learners have made their mark at the World Spelling Bee Championship in Shanghai, China, with Team South Africa finishing fourth overall.
Leading the team's standout performances was 13-year-old Mbulelo Tolom from Klerksdorp Primary School in the North West, who placed sixth in the world.
The Grade 7 learner was the youngest member of the six-person team and competed against older learners from across the globe.

Jabulani Mall and Pick n Pay Jabulani have supported young people at Jabulani Safe-Hub by donating stationery, blankets and sports kits to the centre.
