George Lucas Set to Make First-Ever Comic-Con Appearance
Story 2
Excitement is building as Comic-Con kicks off in San Diego with George Lucas attending for the very first time.
The Star Wars creator will appear in a special Sunday panel with Guillermo del Toro and Doug Chiang, the artist behind many of the franchise’s iconic visuals.
Chiang is now helping design the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, which opens next year in Los Angeles.
Organisers say Lucas’s visit is a full-circle moment for the event that helped launch Star Wars nearly 50 years ago.
Fans can also look forward to the premiere of Alien: Earth and a Predator: Badlands panel.

South Korea Sees Birth Rate Boost for First Time in Over a Decade
Story 3
South Korea has recorded its highest birth rate growth in over 40 years, with a 6.9 percent increase in births from January to May.
Statistics Korea says over 106,000 babies were born during this period, the sharpest rise since data tracking began in 1981.
Officials link the growth to more women in their early 30s getting married, as marriage is closely tied to childbirth in the country.
This positive shift is important because South Korea’s low birth rate has threatened future economic growth and placed pressure on social services.
While the fertility rate remains low at 0.75, this increase offers hope for stabilising the population and easing long-term demographic challenges.
