Learners explored study paths, compared career choices, and gained practical information to prepare for the workplace.

Public artworks for Claremont MyCiTi station

The City of Cape Town is inviting artists to submit proposals for public artworks at the new Claremont MyCiTi station.
This station, part of Phase 2A of the MyCiTi system, will link Khayelitsha and Mitchells Plain with Wynberg and Claremont.
The City says artworks will make public spaces welcoming, encourage social connection, and reflect Cape Town’s history and culture.
Artists can design works for walls, foyer entrances, platforms, and sculptures, with submissions open until 27 March 2026.

2026 Johannesburg City Marathon

Preparations are underway for the 2026 Johannesburg City Marathon, set for 22 March in Kibler Park, Johannesburg.
The race will feature 42.2 km, 21.1 km, and 10 km distances for participants of all levels.
Proceeds from the marathon will support local NGOs across the city.
Organisers are targeting 8,000 runners and have planned a route through key areas of Gauteng.

Children in the Mantsa Settlement, Lesotho, will soon receive bicycles through the Youth Pedal Project.
The initiative, launched in March 2025, collected over 24 bikes and R6,440 to cover helmets and travel costs.
Next month, six children will receive their bicycles, and the remaining 18 will be donated to other communities in need.
The project aims to give young people mobility to reach school, work, and community resources, creating opportunities and improving daily life.
