The stroll started this morning at Blouberg beachfront.
Erasmus says this year's walk follows last year's stroll, where dozens of community members joined him to celebrate the holiday with fitness, connection, and a spirit of giving:

Pieter Pienaar 1st SA ro win individual division of 2025 Microsoft Excel Collegiate Challenge

University of Pretoria master’s student Pieter Pienaar has become the first South African to win the individual division of the 2025 Microsoft Excel Collegiate Challenge in Las Vegas.
The 23-year-old MCom Accounting Sciences student competed against participants from over 1,100 universities worldwide.
Pienaar, who also founded the UP Excel Club to support fellow students, has steadily improved his performance in the challenge since 2022, moving from 12th place to first on his 4th attempt.
He credited his success to careful problem-solving, mentorship, and his focus during competition.

Laura Wolvaardt regains #1 ranking in the ICC Women’s ODI

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt has regained her number one ranking in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings.
This follows the completion of South Africa’s 3-0 ODI series victory against Ireland, in which Wolvaardt scored centuries in the final two matches.
Smriti Mandhana from India is second on the list, followed by Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner.

Learner Tien wins Next Gen ATP Finals

American Learner Tien secured his second career title by winning the Next Gen ATP Finals in Saudi Arabia.
The 20-year-old defeated Belgian Alexander Blockx, 4-3, 4-2, 4-1, avenging his runner-up finish at the event a year ago.
Tien is just the third top seed to capture the title, following in the footsteps of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Carlos Alcaraz.
He says he is happy he was able to go one step better this year:
