Randburg-based Doorway to Dignity will host the 10th Pots of Hope on 10 October, marking a decade of the community initiative.
Potjiekos teams will compete while preparing meals for around 80 homeless and vulnerable people, with individuals paying R300 to enter and corporate teams R600.
Volunteers will serve guests potjie, dessert and drinks in a restaurant-style setting.
Leftover food will be distributed to feeding schemes, old-age homes and places of safety.

100 Women Gather for Martial Arts Seminar

More than 100 women gathered at Bracken Park Community Hall on 15-August for the seventh Beauty is a Beast Women-Only Martial Arts Seminar.
Participants took part in eight martial arts and fitness sessions.
Female instructors led six hours of training, giving beginners and experienced martial artists a chance to learn new skills.
Coordinator of the Beauty is a Beast seminar, Karyn Smith, says the event aims to help women build confidence, fitness and self-defence skills through martial arts.
