Tatjana Smith Celebrated as South Africa’s Golden Girl

Former swimmer Tatjana Smith capped her career with two major wins at the South African Sport Awards in Sun City on Sunday.

Bulldozer Hero Rescues Flood Victims in Beijing

Wang Tianyu, a 35-year-old construction company owner in Beijing, has been hailed as the “Bulldozer Hero” after rescuing dozens of people trapped by floodwaters.
Using his bulldozer, Wang ferried villagers from rooftops to safety and even carried firefighters and other rescue personnel to affected areas.
He worked nonstop for 13 hours, navigating three-foot-high waters, sometimes fearing his bulldozer would be washed away.
The floods were caused by an intense week of rain that dumped 40 percent of Beijing’s yearly average precipitation.
Images and videos of Wang’s efforts quickly went viral on Chinese social media, inspiring millions and highlighting the courage and resourcefulness of everyday heroes.
