UWC graduates to represent South Africa in the US

Two alumni from the University of the Western Cape are set to represent South Africa in the United States after winning this year’s Red Bull Basement South Africa title with their transport app, Uthutho.
The app is designed to improve safety and convenience in public transport, through the use of artificial intelligence and GPS technology, providing commuters with real-time updates on routes, fares and travel conditions.
The pair will travel to Silicon Valley in the United States, where they will compete in the global finals in San Francisco in June.
