Gauteng to host Heritage Day celebrations in Kagiso
The Gauteng Provincial Government, in partnership with Mogale City, is hosting this year's Heritage Day celebrations, in Kagiso, in the West Rand.

The event is expected to draw more than 3,000 people, uniting South Africans through music, dance, and poetry.

The celebration aims to honour the rich cultural traditions that have shaped the Gauteng province while fostering social cohesion and strengthening community resilience.

MTN Group, UJ and TAEF launch Pan-African Media Innovation Programme
The multinational telecommunications operator, MTN Group, in partnership with the University of Johannesburg and The African Editors Forum, has launched the Pan-African Media Innovation Programme, designed to equip journalists with future-ready skills.

The initiative seeks to strengthen newsrooms, rebuild public trust in journalism and foster resilient information ecosystems across Africa.

The 12-week programme combines online modules with in-person experiences in Johannesburg, followed by a two-week placement within an MTN partner company.

The 12th Annual Golden Shield Heritage Awards, hosted in Mpumalanga, brought together cultural leaders, heritage practitioners and community builders to celebrate South Africa’s rich and diverse heritage.

The National Heritage Council honoured outstanding individuals, organisations, and communities dedicated to preserving and promoting cultural practices.

South Africa and Brazil sign agreement to boost agricultural ties
South Africa and Brazil have signed a Memorandum of Intent to strengthen ties in farming and agriculture.

The signing took place at the G20 Agriculture Working Group Ministerial Meeting in Somerset West, in the Western Cape.
The MoI provides a framework for sharing expertise, training programmes and joint conferences.

The agreement provides for strategic trade facilitation, including trade missions and exhibitions, aimed at creating new market opportunities for both countries.
