Joburg's Region C launches initiative to boost local business ties

The City of Johannesburg's Region C has launched the "Meet the City" Investment Retention Programme, aiming to strengthen partnerships with local businesses and unlock economic opportunities.
The programme, held at the Roodepoort Theatre last week, targets areas like Douglasdale, Roodepoort, Northgate, Northriding, and Olivedale.
Executive Director of Economic Development Mathopane Masha outlined the City's economic outlook, highlighting the Executive Mayor's 3% growth target by 2030, supported by an Investment Fast-Tracking Team for quicker business resolutions, licences, and approvals.

Blairgowrie dancer represents SA at IDO World Hip Hop & Popping Championships

Young dancer Kiyaan Naidoo has returned back after representing South Africa with pride at the International Dance Organisation, World Hip Hop & Popping Championships in Slovenia.
Competing in the hip-hop solo junior 2 category, he finished 23rd in the world, a strong achievement in a field of 68 skilled dancers from across the globe.
The dancer from Blairgowrie earned his place on the national team through SABOD’s provincial and national qualifiers, first receiving his provincial colours, and later his South African colours at the final selection round in August.
He described the opportunity to represent South Africa as an honour filled with excitement and pressure.

The South African Sports’ Confederation and Olympic Committee has been in continuous dialogue with the IOC.
Having hosted major events like the 1995 Rugby World Cup, 2003 Cricket World Cup, and 2010 FIFA World Cup, South Africa is ready to host the Olympics for the first time in Africa.
The country is also co-hosting the 2027 Cricket World Cup with Zimbabwe and Namibia.
Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has expressed confidence in the country's readiness, citing existing infrastructure.
