Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana has hailed the G20 Leaders' Summit a success, highlighting its role in showcasing South Africa as a leading emerging economy.
The minister briefed the media after president Cyril Ramaphosa wrapped up the two-day summit in Johannesburg yesterday.
Godongwana says leaders are expected to take the recommendations emerging from the summit into the upcoming meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in April next year:

Microsoft South Africa and education technology company--Seseko have empowered over 5,000 learners across 6-provinces with a robotics and coding programme.
The initiative equips underserved communities with skills for the digital economy through bootcamps, teacher training, and robotics kits.
105 teachers from 68 Gauteng schools have completed SACE-accredited training, empowering them to integrate robotics and coding into everyday teaching.
The rollout is redefining what is possible for young people in communities where access to technology has been limited.

The event brought together communities, naturalists, and scientists to document biodiversity, resulting in over 294,000 observations across Africa, South America, and Oceania,
In Africa alone, 123,632 observations were made, with South Africa’s citizen scientists leading with up 52,387 of that total.
The Western Cape was the top-performing region, recording over 26,000 observations of more than 3,000 species.
The South African National Biodiversity Institute's Suvarna Parbhoo Mohan says the collective effort this year was “outstanding” and reflected Africa’s growing commitment to nature, community science and biodiversity discovery.
