UJ law graduate celebrates major achievement at just 19

Onika Mokoena has graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Johannesburg at the age of 19, after beginning her university journey when she was just 15.
Originally from Bushbuckridge in Mpumalanga, she says her passion for law comes from a desire to protect vulnerable people and make a positive difference in society.
During her studies, she gained practical experience through Moot Court and the UJ Law Clinic, and also served as a peer mentor and student leader supporting fellow students.
Mokoena says the achievement represents resilience, hard work and determination, and she now plans to gain practical legal experience while continuing her studies in future.

Northwood School donates mattresses to support ECD naptime

Northwood School in Durban has donated mattresses to help improve nap time comfort for young children at Early Childhood Development centres supported by the Domino Foundation.
The donation follows upgrades at the school’s boarding facilities, with the mattresses redirected to community centres in need and refurbished before distribution.
The Domino Foundation says the mattresses will support better rest for toddlers, which is important for focus, behaviour and early development.
The organisation works with several ECD centres in and around Durban that still require basic resources for daily care.
