Melville Koppies Nature Reserve recently offered visitors a combined storytelling and guided tour experience that explored the area’s rich natural and cultural heritage.
Guests enjoyed traditional stories before heading out on walks that highlighted early human history, including stone tools, iron-bearing rocks and how ancient communities lived off the land.
The reserve continues to host regular public activities, including hiking trails, heritage walks and guided tours that are open to visitors on a weekly basis, along with monthly longer guided hikes.

Construction has started on a new school for autistic learners in Dinokana Village in the North West.
The facility will cater for learners from early childhood to senior phase and will include classrooms, vocational workshops, therapy rooms, a library and hostel accommodation.
The school is designed to provide specialised support for learners with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions, with therapy and tailored learning built into daily education.
It will also bring services closer to families who previously had to travel long distances for schooling.

Two Bedfordview brothers have hosted a music event that doubled as a community upliftment initiative, where entry required attendees to donate items for those in need.
The event, held at The View, brought together mainly young people who contributed books, blankets and food items.
The DJs and organisers volunteered their services, turning what was intended as a social gathering into a platform for giving back. Donations collected will be distributed to local charities supporting vulnerable communities.
