Organised by the Benoni CPF Youth Desk, the programme featured football matches between youth teams, SAPS and EMPD members.
Participants also took part in awareness activities focused on drug abuse, gender-based violence and making positive life choices.
The initiative aimed to strengthen community relationships and encourage young people to pursue opportunities through education and sport.

School donation boosts learning conditions

Learners at FJL Wells Primary School in Randfontein will benefit from improved learning conditions following a donation of 200 chairs and 50 pairs of school shoes.
The contribution was made through a partnership between the Seventh-day Adventist Students Association, Stellantis South Africa and Peugeot.
The chairs will support assemblies and school activities, while the shoes will assist learners who need them most.
School officials say the donation will help create a more comfortable and supportive learning environment.

West Coast film nominated at Cannes

A South African documentary about the impact of mining on the West Coast has received a nomination in the Work in Progress category at the Cannes Film Awards.
Out of Mined, produced by Eyeforce in partnership with Protect the West Coast, examines how mining has affected coastal communities, beaches and ecosystems.
The production team completed nine research trips to the West Coast and Richtersveld to create the 60-minute film.
South African audiences will get their first screening at Cape Town's Labia Theatre today before the documentary heads to international film festivals.
