Young Soweto Boy Advances to Provincials After Inspiring Meeting With His Hero

A young autistic boy from Soweto has advanced to the provincial finals of the iNkosi Albertina Luthuli Oral Competition after presenting a speech about his hero, autism advocate Dr Emile Gouws.
Rori, a learner at Mohato School for Autism, met Dr Gouws after asking his teacher to arrange an interview, giving him the opportunity to learn more about the person who inspires him.
The meeting gave Rori the confidence to share his story and raise awareness about autism, earning him a place in the next stage of the competition.

New Eastern Cape school opens more pathways to success

Learners in Schauderville, Gqeberha, are set to benefit from the newly built David Livingstone Secondary School, which has been designed to support the Eastern Cape's Three Stream Education Model.
Alongside traditional academic subjects, the school offers vocational learning, including beauty therapy and other practical skills that prepare learners for employment, entrepreneurship and further study.
The R170 million development also includes 28 classrooms, three computer labs, a library, a home economics classroom and modern facilities, creating a better learning environment for hundreds of learners.
Eastern Cape MEC for Education Fundile Gade says the new school is an investment in the future.

Community Partners Support La Rochelle Creche with Food and Blankets

The Alberton Lions, together with Pam Golding Properties and the PPT Running Club, donated food items and blankets to Hopes of Oak Creche in La Rochelle to support young children in its care.
The creche provides a safe environment for babies and young children, while also operating an aftercare programme for school learners in the community.
The donation came in response to the creche's request for assistance during the winter months, helping to ensure children have access to essential supplies and warm blankets
