Global hunger levels continue to fall
Teaser / Tailpiece story
A new United Nations report shows that global hunger has fallen for a third consecutive year.
An estimated 7.8 percent of the world's population experienced hunger in 2025, down from 8.1 percent in 2024 and 8.6 percent in 2022, with Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean recording the biggest improvements.
The UN says the progress shows that sustained investment and strong policies can help improve food security, although more work is needed to support vulnerable communities.
