MCI Scholarship Opens Doors Abroad

South African graduates can apply for the 2027 Herman Mashaba Scholarship at MCI | The Entrepreneurial School in Austria.
The scholarship reduces first-year tuition fees by approximately R287,000, leaving successful applicants with a remaining fee of about R28,700 to pay.
Applications close on 31 March 2027 and are open to students applying for selected master’s programmes, including business, engineering, technology and health fields.
Applicants must first gain admission to an eligible MCI programme before submitting a scholarship application with academic records, a CV and a motivation letter.

Maisha Molepo Foundation hosts football and netball tournaments

The Maisha Molepo Foundation hosted football and netball tournaments at the 3 Square Sports Centre in Alexandra on July 18 to promote social cohesion after recent community protests.
The foundation donated soccer and netball kits, funded by the National Lottery Commission.
Senior and youth teams from Alexandra and Soweto competed in the event, which encouraged community participation through sport.
In partnership with the Thami Xalasha Foundation, the organisation also distributed food parcels to elderly residents.

Sweetwaters Women Boosted With Sewing Support

Women from the Sihlangule community organisation in Sweetwaters, in Eastern Cape, received two industrial sewing machines and fabric from Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality to expand their garment-making business.
Executive Mayor Princess Faku handed over the equipment on 22 July, providing the women with 300 metres each of Umbhaco and African print fabric.
The women use sewing and tailoring skills to produce clothing and textile products for local markets, creating income opportunities for their families.
The support will help Sihlangule increase production and strengthen its community enterprise.
