Joburg Residents Called To Join War on Potholes

The City of Johannesburg is calling on all residents to join the "War on Potholes" by reporting potholes and other road defects across the metro.
The "War on Potholes" campaign brings together teams from the Johannesburg Roads Agency to fix the city's roads.
The initiative will undertake various activities including daily road repairs, resurfacing, shoulder cutting, verge maintenance, pavement re-instatement, and road marking to improve the city's roads.
Speaking at the launch of the campaign earlier this month, Johannesburg's Executive Mayor Dada Morero says residents' participation will help improve roads and but also helping to shift the narrative from doubt to action:

Marimba Players From South Africa & Zimbabwe Unite To Break Guinness World Record

Marimba players from South Africa and Zimbabwe are gearing up to make musical history in Cape Town.
The Grand Arena at GrandWest will come alive as more than 1,000 marimba musicians unite in an official attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest marimba ensemble on Saturday the 2nd of August.
The players, ranging from 8-years old to 62, will be travelling from all 9-provinces in South Africa, as well as from two schools in Zimbabwe.

DR Congo Inks Deal With Barcelona To Promote Tourism

The DR Congo has signed a 46-million-dollar sponsorship deal with Barcelona to promote tourism in the country.
The 4-year campaign unveiled in June will feature the slogan " the heart of Africa" on Barcelona's training and warm-up kits for both men's and women's teams.
The DRC's branding will also appear in club publications, advertisements and official reports.
This marketing initiative aims to rebrand the conflict affected central African state as a prime tourism and investment destination.
