The Fourways community came together to donate 54 teddy bears to families in Tembisa, turning a simple act of kindness into meaningful impact,
spreading smiles, comfort and a sense of care among children who need it most.

Partnerships and engagement officer at the Starfish Greathearts Foundation, Skosana Mpiliso says the
initiative highlights the power of partnerships and community-driven action.

Mpiliso says the organisation’s plans for 2026 include expanding access to health and wellness services in communities with little to no support, continuing capacity-building initiatives, while empowering communities to become more sustainable.

The Tutuse Community Project's Back to School Shoe Drive, aims to restore dignity and motivation among learners in remote communities in the Eastern Cape, where learners often attend school without proper footwear.

The Community Project will be rolling out its Back-to-School Shoe Drive, from the 23rd to the 25th of February, targeting 600 learners from two high schools and three primary schools in under-resourced communities in the Eastern Cape.

The Project's Founder King Sambu, says for
many of the learners, school shoes are not just footwear but a source of confidence, protection from stigma and a reminder that someone cares.

Beyond shoes, the campaign encourages learners to focus on education, using motivation and positive role modelling.
