Izibusiso Community Foundation distributes food parcels to Soweto families

156 food parcels have been distributed to underprivileged residents in Soweto through a partnership between the Izibusiso Community Foundation and the Gauteng Department of Social Development.
The parcels, containing staple items such as mealie meal, samp, flour and cooking oil, were allocated to unemployed residents, child-headed households and pensioners in Orlando East.
The foundation continues to run a weekly soup kitchen and vegetable collection programme to support families facing food shortages.
Organisers say they are seeking additional food and funding support as demand for assistance.

Flights between Cape Town and Hoedspruit Airport in Limpopo have resumed after repairs to the airport’s main runway, which was damaged during January floods.
During the disruption, smaller aircrafts continued using a secondary runway, but larger jets like FlySafair’s 737s needed the repaired main runway to operate safely.
FlySafair now offers flights three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, restoring full commercial service for passengers.
