Garden Route SA Schools Captain

The South African Schools cricket team was captained for the first time by a Garden Route Badgers player, formerly South Western Districts. According to reports, left-arm spinner Enathi Kitshini of Themba lethu High School in George was handed the captain’s armband. Kitshini led the SA Schools side against the SA Colts at the Mangaung Oval. The Captain has represented the Garden Route Badgers since the age of 11 and made his first-class debut for the senior Badgers team last season.

A Bryanston family is marking 20-years of transforming their home into a festive wonderland. The annual event, organised by homeowner Danielle Goff, has grown into a popular community attraction drawing families out of their homes to share in the festive spirit. Each year has a different theme and this year, the theme is The Grinch touching on the famous children's tale that is about How the Grinch stole Christmas. Goff also known as Mrs Claus told reporters that the event creates memories for children and adults.

Independent seawater testing has confirmed that North Coast beaches are safe, swimmable and ready for the holiday season. According to reports, the Ballito Urban Improvement Precinct together with B.N Kirk and local estates, carries out weekly E. coli tests from Ballito to Sheffield. Nearly every test this year fell within the “ideal” range, with only one September result reaching the “acceptable” range, which is still safe for swimmers. The final tests of the year, conducted on December 9 and 17, again confirmed clean water for holidaymakers. The positive results highlight the impact of ongoing infrastructure maintenance and repairs by Siza Water and the KwaDukuza Municipality.

British street artist Banksy unveiled his latest work in central London this week. The black and white mural painted on the side of an old building in Bayswater shows two people, probably children, in winter hats and wellington boots lying down, looking up and pointing to the sky. Bansky whose real identity has not been revealed, posted an image of the work on his official Instagram account.
