eThekwini libraries launch children’s writing programme

eThekwini Municipality libraries have launched a writing programme for children aged 5 to 15 to develop storytelling skills and produce published work.
The “I Want to Write a Book” initiative, part of the Articulate Africa Art and Book Fair, trains selected participants through writing workshops and mentorship from literary professionals.
Participants will work on their own stories and can be selected as literary ambassadors for the municipality.
Applications are open until 30 April 2026.

Ella Mai arrives in South Africa for weekend shows

Grammy-winning British singer Ella Mai has arrived in South Africa ahead of two scheduled performances this weekend.
She will perform at the Sun City Superbowl during Konka Kulture Weekend on 25 April and at the Grand Arena in GrandWest on 26 April.
The shows will include songs such as “Boo’d Up” and “Trip,” alongside music from her latest project DYSLM (Do You Still Love Me?).
She will be joined on stage by South African artists including Sjava, Nasty C, Zee Nxumalo, Uncle Waffles, Oscar Mbo and the Scorpion Kings.
