South Africa schools selected for 2026 STEM competition
Story 1
Top performing schools from across South Africa have been selected for the Top 20 in the 2026 Solve for Tomorrow competition, a STEM initiative led by Samsung in partnership with the Department of Basic Education.
The programme challenges Grade 10 and 11 learners to design solutions to social and environmental problems using science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
More than 140 entries were received from public schools nationwide, with shortlisted teams now entering a mentored phase that includes workshops, prototype development and access to digital tools.
Organisers say the initiative builds problem-solving and innovation skills to prepare learners for careers in the digital economy.
