The City of Tshwane has partnered with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research to develop a data platform aimed at improving service delivery.
The system will bring together information from different municipal departments, helping officials track service delivery problems, monitor progress and identify who is responsible for resolving them.
Tshwane will be the pilot municipality, with implementation planned over two years, from July 2026 to June 2028.
Ward councillors are also expected to access relevant municipal information on their mobile phones, while the platform will help link service delivery plans to budgets and infrastructure projects.

Johannesburg Lecturer Crowned SA Cosplay Champion

Johannesburg game design lecturer Brendan Jackson has been crowned South Africa’s overall cosplay champion.
He won the title at Comic Con Africa last month, after spending about a thousand hours creating a costume inspired by the Warhammer character, Chaos Lord of Khorne.
The costume took around 18 months to complete and features handmade armour, 3D-printed components, metalwork, chainmail and lighting effects.
Jackson says cosplay has become a way to express creativity, learn new skills and connect with people who share similar interests.
He will now represent South Africa at the international Crown Championships of Cosplay in London next year.
