The City of Johannesburg is ready to host the 28th edition of the Ride Joburg cycling challenge, taking place this Sunday.
The event, taking place at the FNB Stadium, is set to attract thousands of cyclists from around the world to a 97-kilometer route showcasing the city's landmarks.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for participants and spectators, the City will implement full road closures from 03:00 to 17:00, with eight refreshment stations, medical points, and emergency teams strategically placed along the route.
The city's Executive Mayor, Dada Morero, commended the organisers, volunteers, and City officials for their commitment to delivering another successful event.

Cape Town expands MyCiTi bus operations

Quintas confirmed that the city is set to introduce electric buses to its MyCiTi service by 2027, as part of Phase 2A, which will expand the bus service to connect commuters from Khayelitsha, Mitchells Plain, and other communities across the metro-south east with Claremont and Wynberg.
He has emphasized that the city's commitment to transitioning to electric or alternative-fuel-powered vehicles by 2050, aligning with Cape Town's Climate Change Action Plan:
