Johannesburg to host Jozi aMuse Festival of Museums

The City of Johannesburg will host The Jozi aMuse Festival of Museums from the 20th of May, offering an immersive cultural experience, including a "Routes of Resistance" Soweto tour, gallery visits and evening events.

The curated, citywide experience brings together Johannesburg’s leading museums, galleries and cultural spaces into one connected cultural moment through a scenic City Sightseeing Bus journey over 4 days.

The festival will include site visits and tours to Constitution Hill, Wits Art Museum, and Museum Africa among others.

FlySafair marks 12 years with massive birthday ticket sale

FlySafair celebrated its 12th birthday with a return of its massive annual ticket flight sale earlier this month.
The airline released 50-thousand one-way seats across its domestic network for 12-rand each, with standard airport taxes and fuel surcharges added to the final amount.

The promotional fares were be booked for travel dates extending through the 30th of November 2026.

Tickets were limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with deals made accessible through the airline’s online system.

Rassie erasmus honoured with Order of Ikhamanga

The Springbok head coach Rassie Erasmus was awarded the Order of Ikhamanga in Gold by President Cyril Ramaphosa in recognition of his outstanding contribution to South African rugby and nation-building.

The order recognises South African citizens who have excelled in the fields of arts, culture, literature, music, journalism and sport.

The Presidency says the Springbok coach has advanced social cohesion and has raised the nation's esteem following the 2019 and 2023 Rugby world cup victories.

President Cyril Ramaphosa bestowed National Orders on 38 South Africans and foreign nationals in Pretoria this week.
The ceremony honoured individuals who made exceptional contributions to nation-building, sports, arts, medicine, and technological innovation.
