Zoo Lake’s 121st birthday

The Zoo Lake Users Committee and Johannesburg Zoo teamed up to celebrate Zoo Lake’s 121st birthday with a clean-up, fun walk, and an owl show. The committee is run by local residents and has been working since 2015 to restore and develop the lake into a world-class park. Johannesburg Zoo’s executive manager Louise Gordon praised the community’s efforts, and highlighted the importance of environmental care.

Bolt's Flight Tracking Schedule

E-hailing platform Bolt South Africa, has introduced the 'Flight Tracking for Scheduled Rides' feature, enabling customers to sync their flight details when scheduling an airport pick-up. Senior General Manager at Bolt South Africa Lerato Motsoeneng, says Bolt is an official ride-hailing partner at more than 30 airports globally including Cape Town International Airport, King Shaka International Airport and Lanseria International Airport. Motsoeneng says the fearure allows customers to travel directly from Arrivals without the need to find separate pick-up points.

New Yorks Pigeon Fest

A New York park is celebrating one of the city's most iconic animals next month with Pigeon Fest, a day-long event featuring art exhibitions, science demonstrations, a panel on urban ecology and bird conservation. The festival will also have and the city's first Pigeon Impersonation Pageant. The High Line, an elevated park on the West Side of Manhattan, announced Pigeon Fest will coincide with National Pigeon Appreciation Day on June 14th.The park's website said the event is partially inspired by Dinosaur, artist Iván Argote's 17-foot-tall aluminum pigeon sculpture that resides at the park.
