Premier Panyaza Lesufi has confirmed that the Nasi Ispani jobs campaign will return this June, bringing fresh opportunities for Gauteng’s unemployed residents.
Last year’s campaign focused on recruiting for crime prevention and traffic roles and was met with great success.
This year, the emphasis shifts to skills training, with thousands set to gain hands-on experience in trades such as plumbing, welding, and electrical work.
Already, over 500,000 people have expressed interest in the programme, reflecting the high demand for practical job skills.
The provincial government hopes this initiative will open doors to sustainable employment and contribute to economic empowerment for many families in Gauteng.

Thirty young people from Alexandra, Gauteng, recently took part in a skills training session at the Agrigreat Soiltech Waste Conversion Site (ASWCS).
As part of Project YDE Lumen30, the training aimed to equip them with knowledge about renewable energy, entrepreneurship, and how to run sustainable businesses.
The session was organised in collaboration with Unnati Training Academy and covered important topics such as waste conversion, budgeting, and business development.
The participants left feeling inspired to start their own projects.
ASWCS also revealed plans to expand its work with a new waste conversion centre across the country.
