Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has launched a state of the art food storage facility in Centurion, aimed at improving how food is stored and distributed across the province.
The facility is expected to support non profit organisations and streamline the delivery of food supplies to communities, ensuring quicker and more efficient access.
The development is part of broader efforts to enhance coordination and strengthen food supply systems in Gauteng.

A dog rescue mission in KwaZulu-Natal is continuing its work after a wave of community support helped sustain Puppy SOS KZN, which cares for more than 100 rescued dogs.
David, who runs the rescue near Verulam, has been praised for his ongoing efforts to reduce stray numbers through sterilisation, despite operating with very limited resources.
Following a public appeal, supporters including the Robin Hood Foundation delivered essential items such as a bar fridge, inverter, clothing and food supplies to help keep the centre running.
The support is helping the rescue manage daily operations, especially during power outages, while continuing its work caring for vulnerable animals.

LIV Golf South Africa set to return in 2027

LIV Golf South Africa is set to return in April 2027, following a successful debut event held in Johannesburg this past weekend.
Organisers have confirmed the tournament will again be staged at Steyn City from the 22nd to the 25th of April.
The inaugural event attracted more than 100,000 spectators and featured top international players, marking the first time the global golf league hosted a tournament on African soil.
The return of the tournament is expected to further cement South Africa’s position as a key destination on the international golfing calendar.
English golfer Paul Casey says it is the best LIV tournament he has played at.

A new immersive marine dining experience in Cape Town has been named on TIME Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places list for 2026, just months after opening.
Amura by Ángel León, located at the Mount Nelson Hotel, is the only restaurant on the African continent to make the global list of 100 standout destinations.
Opened in December 2025, the restaurant is led by Michelin starred Spanish chef Ángel León, known internationally for his innovative seafood cuisine inspired by the ocean.
The menu celebrates Cape coastal flavours and sustainable seafood, combining local ingredients with global culinary techniques.
