LIV Golf South Africa set to return in 2027

LIV Golf South Africa is set to return in April 2027, following a successful debut event held in Johannesburg this past weekend.
Organisers have confirmed the tournament will again be staged at Steyn City from the 22nd to the 25th of April.
The inaugural event attracted more than 100,000 spectators and featured top international players, marking the first time the global golf league hosted a tournament on African soil.
The return of the tournament is expected to further cement South Africa’s position as a key destination on the international golfing calendar.
English professional golfer Paul Casey says it is the best LIV tournament he has played at

South African architect wins double German Design Award

South African architect Mangaliso Mtetwa has secured a double win at the 2026 German Design Awards for his Ubuntu Curve seating design.
The modular bench system, inspired by the philosophy of “I am because we are,” won in both furniture and circular design categories, highlighting South African innovation on the global stage.
Designed for public spaces, it uses recycled steel and sustainably sourced timber to encourage community interaction and sustainable design.
The work has also been showcased at an international design fair in Frankfurt.

Westville school community rallies to help flood affected traffic controller in KwaZulu Natal

A Westville school community in KwaZulu Natal is coming together to help rebuild the life of traffic controller Trevor after recent floods destroyed his home and belongings.
Trevor, who is well known outside Westville Girls’ High School for greeting learners and parents with warmth and positivity, is now staying in rented accommodation with very few possessions.
The school and local community have launched a donation drive to collect household items to help him restart his life after the disaster.
Donations are being collected at Westville Girls’ High School in KwaZulu Natal on Sundays to support Trevor and others in similar need in the area.
