Greenside Primary School has won the Science Scuffle finals held by the City of Johannesburg's Library and Information Services Directorate.
The inter-school competition challenged Grade 6 and 7 learners to answer science questions and test their teamwork, speed and research skills.
Teams advanced through library, zonal, regional and metropolitan rounds to reach the final.
The programme aims to equip young people with information and problem-solving skills they can use throughout their education and future careers.

Ladles of Love helps feed and educate children

Ladles of Love's 2026 Mandela Day Hands-On Initiative will help preschool children in underserved communities receive nutritious meals and new learning materials.
Volunteers will gather at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec on 22-July to spend 67 minutes creating flashcards, activity books and educational resources for early childhood development centres.
Each R300 ticket will provide a child in need with two meals a day for a month.
People across South Africa can also take part between 17-and 31-July by hosting their own activities using Hands-On Hero Kits.
