The global instant messaging app Watsapp will soon introduce advertisements on its platform, marking a key turning point for the the messaging app that has largely remained ad-free since its launch.
The platform says it will roll out three new features exclusively within its Updates tab, which houses both Channels and Status features used by 1.5 billion people daily.
WhatsApp added that they have built the ads with privacy in mind, through the use of the platform's end-to-end encryption security feature, that protects the privacy of communications between two parties
The company has assured users that the personal messaging experience on WhatsApp remains unchanged.
