Safe-Hub Receives Support From Local Businesses

Young people at Jabulani Safe-Hub have received support from Jabulani Mall and Pick n Pay Jabulani, which donated stationery, blankets and sports kits to the centre.
Staff from the two organisations also spent time with beneficiaries by preparing lunch and taking part in a clean-up campaign at the hub.
Safe-Hub provides education, sport, health and development programmes for young people in underserved communities.

UWC Dance Club Wins 21 Medals

The University of the Western Cape’s Dance Sport Club has returned from the 2026 University Sports South Africa Dance Sport Championships with 21 medals.
The team claimed 10 gold, seven silver and four bronze medals across ballroom, Latin American and street dance categories at the competition hosted by the University of the Free State.
Co-captain Dene Visser says the results reflect the team’s commitment, preparation and consistent training:

Walaza Sets New 100m Personal Best

South African sprinter Bayanda Walaza has run into the record books after clocking a personal best of nine point eight nine seconds in the 100 metres in Slovakia.
The 20-year-old won the race in Slovakia and became the fourth-fastest South African over the distance.
Walaza’s time puts him behind only Akani Simbine, Benjamin Richardson and Gift Leotlela on the national all-time list.
