In a remarkable display of collaboration and compassion, Project Flamingo facilitated 39 life-saving breast cancer surgeries across 5 public hospitals in a single day.
This past Saturday volunteer medical teams worked together in the hospitals to provide much-needed breast cancer surgery to women.
The surgeries were performed at Groote Schuur, Tygerberg, George Regional, Livingstone, and Cecilia Makiwane Hospitals.
The non-profit organisation has now performed over 1-thousand-800 breast cancer surgeries in South Africa's public healthcare sector helping to bridge the gap in timely medical care for those in need.
