The Field Market at Field & Study Park in Sandton is celebrating a milestone year, marking a decade of community, creativity and connection. What started as a small local initiative has grown into one of the area’s most popular community markets. The market now hosts more than 140 traders, showcasing artisanal food, handmade items and distinctive lifestyle products. Founder and organiser Handri Cooley described the 10-year milestone as both humbling and rewarding. She adds that the market has always been about people creating a space where community, creativity and small businesses can thrive together.

Morningside Bowls Club has capped 2025 with a season of medals, milestones, and standout performances, earning the title of Johannesburg Bowling Association (JBA) District’s Club of the Year.The club excelled in both provincial and national competitions, with its Saturday league teams leading the way. The men’s Premier Fours claimed gold, while the ladies’ Premier Fours took silver. Strong community engagement and support from long-term sponsors also helped make 2025 a landmark year for Morningside.

The Alexforbes Angel Wings crew, a youth-led team preparing for the Cape2Rio 2025 challenge will begin on the 27th of December. This is a 3,300-nautical-mile voyage from Cape Town to Rio de Janeiro. All six sailors are graduates of the academy, which introduces young people from under represented communities to sailing. The crew highlights a growing emphasis on inclusivity and youth leadership in South African sailing.
