Maraisburg volunteers restore neglected streets through community clean-up

A grassroots volunteer group in Maraisburg, a suburb in Johannesburg, has carried out a clean-up operation aimed at restoring neglected public spaces and improving local streetscapes.
The Hands of Maraisburg initiative focused on an overgrown section along Millward Road and 6th Avenue, where volunteers cleared litter and dense vegetation around the perimeter of the nearby graveyard.
During the clean-up, the group also uncovered a leaking water pipe hidden behind the overgrowth, highlighting additional maintenance issues in the area.

Senqu Bridge unveiled in major SA and Lesotho water project milestone

The Senqu Bridge has been unveiled in Mokhotlong as part of Phase Two of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project, marking progress in cooperation between South Africa and Lesotho.
Cyril Ramaphosa, Letsie III and Sam Matekane officiated the unveiling of the bridge, which improves access to key construction sites linked to the water transfer system.
The project is expected to strengthen water security for South Africa while supporting infrastructure development and job creation in Lesotho. President Ramaphosa lauded the lasting cooperation between the neighbouring countries.

Organised by Farmers Weekly and partners, the Relief Fund Golf Day aimed to raise money and awareness for farmers dealing with outbreaks that impact cattle, sheep and pig farming, and threaten livelihoods and export markets.
Funds raised during the event will be channelled through a relief foundation to support affected farmers and help strengthen disease control efforts across the sector.
