The initiative, led by Gift of Day in partnership with Sibongile Home Based Care, has launched its second phase, offering an eight week training course that equips young people with certified skills in home care nursing and community support.
More than 70 youths have already enrolled, with organisers aiming to expand participation to over 100, creating pathways into clinics, hospitals and care organisations.

An investment of 4,8 million rand has upgraded wastewater treatment infrastructure in Despatch, under the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.
The work has improved how the plant processes sewage, increasing capacity and reliability while reducing the risk of spills and environmental harm.

The vacancies include departmental heads, deputy principals and principals, with the aim of filling critical gaps and improving management in schools.
KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC Sipho Hlomuka says the appointments are intended to inject stronger leadership into the system and keep learners at the centre of education delivery. The department says the move is part of efforts to stabilise schools and improve overall performance.
