Tshwane University of Technology third-year student, Bongiwe Mokhati, has earned a Wired4Women Awards nomination, recognising her academic excellence and growing impact in South Africa’s ICT sector.
With 13 categories, the awards recognise women making a real difference in the country’s tech sector.
Mokhati is nominated in the Top Tech Student category.
She aims to advance her skills in cloud computing and software development and inspire more young women to pursue careers in technology.

The National Empowerment Fund Board recently undertook a two-day site visit to Mpumalanga—engaging directly with businesses it supports to assess progress, investment support and long-term impact.
It helps expand black participation in the economy by funding entrepreneurs, supporting job creation and driving investment in underserved communities.

Twenty-five schools in KwaZulu-Natal received table tennis equipment donated by the People’s Republic of China to support school sport programmes.
The equipment was delivered at Gardenia Primary School and distributed among participating schools for use in training and matches.
The initiative provides tables and accessories for learners to play and practise the sport in schools.
Education officials say the equipment is used to support learner participation in sport and build skills such as discipline and teamwork.
