The Germiston Bedfordview SPCA has received 75 thick, waterproof mattresses from a local company for animals in its care.
The new beds will help protect the animals from cold and damp conditions while giving them a softer, more comfortable place to rest as they wait for forever homes.

Fifteen children have received specialised reconstructive surgery at PE Provincial Hospital in Gqeberha through the Smile Foundation’s latest surgical programme.
The three day programme treated children with cleft conditions, burn injuries and underdeveloped ears, while also giving healthcare professionals an opportunity to strengthen their specialist skills.
One of the patients was seven year old Thandolwethu Gaceni from Kariega, who began the first stage of reconstructing his underdeveloped ear.

Afrivillage Tigers won the tournament, beating Mohlakeng Women of Worth 3–1 in the final at Patrick Ace Ntsoelengoe Stadium.
