Joburg tackles key sustainability challenges
The City of Johannesburg says it is strengthening collaboration with the private sector, to tackle key sustainability challenges while driving inclusive economic growth, innovation, and environmental resilience.
The metro in partnership with ICLEI Africa and the South African Local Government Association, recently hosted the Johannesburg City–Business Collaboration Accelerator workshop.
The metro’s spokesperson, Virgil James, says the workshop promotes collaboration for sustainable innovation and drives practical solutions for Johannesburg’s green transition:

RySky Foundation hosts 15th annual community baby shower
17-expectant mothers were honoured at Eldorado Park during the RySky Foundation’s 15th annual community baby shower.
The farmyard-themed event included wellness talks, games, and gifts, creating a day of encouragement and support for mothers.
The mothers received essential baby and maternity supplies, including nappies, clothing, and toys.
Health professionals shared advice on antenatal care, early booking, and child safety, while community organisations offered guidance and mentorship.

Transnet starts building Latimer's Landing project
Transnet has started building the R147 million Latimer's Landing project in East London.
This project is set to transform the city's waterfront, boosting tourism and economic growth in the Eastern Cape.
The upgraded facility will feature commercial ventures, including restaurants, leisure outlets, and tourism centres, designed to attract visitors to the area.
TNPA Acting CEO Phyllis Difeto says the investment aligns with Transnet's Reinvent for Growth Strategy, aimed at driving regional economic growth.

SA film director wins award at Chelsea Film Festival
