The awards recognise comprehensive excellence over 21 categories covering operations, safety and leadership.
The Aviation Training Award was presented to Skyy Aviation Academy, for their comprehensive approach to training in cabin crew, ground operations and customer service, providing crucial skills for careers across the aviation value chain, while upholding the excellence that makes South Africa a leader on the global aviation stage.

South Africa’s Minister of Electricity and Energy, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, has announced a partnership with universities and colleges to develop the skills needed for the country’s ambitious R2.2-trillion Integrated Resource Plan.
The plan aims to add 105 gigawatts of new energy capacity by 2039, ensuring universal electricity access while driving economic growth.
The initiative will also create jobs, reduce reliance on coal and support a shift towards cleaner energy sources, marking a significant step in transforming South Africa’s energy landscape.

Gauteng warns of major traffic disruptions during the G20 Summit

Gauteng residents can expect extensive traffic disruptions this weekend as authorities roll out joint traffic operations for the G20 Leaders’ Summit which will take place at the Nasrec Expo Centre.
The Gauteng Provincial Joint Operations Centre confirmed that enforced closures will take place across Johannesburg, Tshwane and Ekurhuleni.
The operations will run from 7.30am to 10am and from 5pm to 8pm on the 22nd and 23rd of November.
Road closures will affect key national and provincial routes, including the N1, N12, N3, R21 and the R24.
Areas that will be impacted in Johannesburg include Sandton, Fourways, Rosebank, parts of Roodepoort, Westcliff and Parkview.
Grayston drive will be fully closed on the 22nd of November.
The Golden Highway, next to the expo centre, will be completely closed off to traffic between Rand Show Road and Soweto Highway.
