Alexandra Initiative Expands Access to Free Sanitary Pads
Story 1
An Alexandra based organisation is aiming to provide free sanitary pads to at least 2 000 women every year through an expanding community support initiative.
Elevate Her Africa recently supplied 10 women with a full year’s supply of sanitary products as part of a partnership with the Real Deal Show on Alex FM.
Founder Marie Joelle Kasongo says the long term goal is to grow the programme across South Africa and eventually the rest of Africa through donor support and community partnerships.
The initiative aims to reduce the financial pressure many women face each month while also encouraging beneficiaries to support others in future.
