Cape Town to procure electric buses for its MyCity service

The City of Cape Town has initiated a procurement process to acquire a fleet of electric buses for its MyCiTi service.

The move aims to reduce carbon emissions and the impact of pollution on the urban environment.

The city plans to expand its diesel bus fleet with electric buses, becoming the first city in Africa to use electric buses for it public transport service.

The Mother City is also exploring the possibility of electrifying other municipal vehicles, including waste collection trucks.

Bolt rolls out automatic Flight Tracking for Scheduled Rides

E-hailing platform Bolt South Africa, has introduced the 'Flight Tracking for Scheduled Rides' feature, enabling customers to sync their flight details when scheduling an airport pick-up.

Senior General Manager at Bolt South Africa Lerato Motsoeneng, says Bolt is an official ride-hailing partner at more than 30 airports globally including The Cape Town International Airport, the King Shaka International Airport and Lanseria International Airport.

Motsoeneng says the fearure allows customers to travel directly from Arrivals without the need to find separate pick-up points.
