The University of Johannesburg has launched a Virtual Reality Lab at its Bunting Road Campus Library in Auckland Park, giving students a chance to step into immersive digital worlds.
The lab lets students explore VR and AR through demonstrations, research projects, and hands-on innovation, bringing classroom ideas to life.
Workshops teach practical skills, while simulations give students a taste of real-world workplace challenges.The Faculty and staff guide students as they experiment with engineering, education, and other projects, turning learning into interactive experiences that spark curiosity and collaboration.

Michael Mount Waldorf School came together to make a difference, collecting more than 230 bags of clothing for a cause close to the community’s heart. Learners, teachers, and families joined forces in a spirit of generosity, proving the power of collective action. The initiative, organised in partnership with the non-profit organisation Clothes to Good, encouraged donations of clothing and everyday items. The highlight of the day saw learners arrange the contributions on the school field into the shape of a heart—a striking symbol of unity, kindness, and the impact of small acts of giving.

Karabo Poppy used her experience as a graphic designer and street artist to create a children’s book that blends story, pictures and culture. She illustrated Hugged by the Night, her first children’s book written by Harold Green III, turning Green's poem into comforting images for young readers.Poppy chose colors and designed the idea of night to help soothe children, and Chronicle Books invited her to join the project, giving her freedom to create the visuals in her own style.
