Jozi Duo Raises Thousands for Children Battling Cancer Through Fitness Challenge

Johannesburg fitness partners Susan and Patsy have raised more than 34,000 rand for the organisation Rainbows and Smiles after completing the Hyrox Pro Doubles Women’s Challenge. The pair took on the intense event, which combines running and strength stations, after just a month of training.
Over 40 days, they used the challenge to raise funds for children diagnosed with cancer and life-threatening illnesses, as well as support for their families.
The organisation says the donation will help continue emotional, social and financial assistance programmes for affected households across several South African cities.

Project Rahmah has helped bring relief to 81-year-old Aunty Gadija in Cape Town by providing a new wheelchair and later securing a replacement bed after noticing further needs during an initial visit. The organisation responded after being contacted to assist the Steenberg resident, who has been bedridden and relies on support from her husband.
With the help of community donations, the team was able to deliver the items within a short space of time, improving her comfort and mobility at home. The initiative has been welcomed as a reminder of the impact of small acts of support in improving daily living conditions for vulnerable people.

Original Sarafina! Cast Reunites After 35 Years

Members of the original Sarafina! cast have reunited for a special performance at Johannesburg's Market Theatre as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.
The cast last performed together in 1991 and will take to the stage once again during Let's Meet at The Market Theatre, an immersive production celebrating the theatre's rich history. Created by the late Mbongeni Ngema, Sarafina! premiered at the Market Theatre in 1987 before becoming one of South Africa's most successful and internationally recognised musicals.
The reunion gives audiences a rare chance to experience a piece of South African theatre history brought back to life.
