Volunteers from Community Cleaners are making a visible impact in Fourways, regularly organising weekend clean-ups across Fairland and Northcliff.
Since 2021, the group has transformed neglected spaces into cleaner, safer areas, bringing together residents from diverse backgrounds.
Founder André Swanepoel said their work is building community pride and encouraging more people to get involved.
The initiative aims to inspire lasting change by fostering a sense of responsibility and care among local residents.
With continued support, Community Cleaners hope to expand their efforts and further improve the Fourways area.

South African dancers made history at the 2025 Dance World Cup in Burgos, Spain, winning overall World Champion titles in the Junior and Senior Hip Hop divisions.
Cape Town’s K&J Dance Unlimited Studio led the charge, showcasing exceptional talent and dedication on the global stage.
Among the standout performers was 16-year-old Peyton Witten, who has danced since she was three and was part of the gold-winning group.
Peyton also achieved an individual 10th place worldwide in the competitive Junior Commercial Solo Hip Hop category.
She praised the friendly and passionate spirit among competitors from all over the world, describing the experience as memorable and inspiring.

The City of Tshwane began a tree-planting drive in Mamelodi township on Monday to mark its G20 legacy project and Mandela Day.
Mayor Nasiphi Moya said the initiative aims to make residents feel part of the international event while greening township parks.
Municipal workers, community members and leaders planted 28 trees at Mandela Park and a local preschool.
Tshwane plans to plant 300,000 trees by December and urges residents to collect trees from the municipality.
The project also tackles hunger with Backyard Farmers, encouraging food gardening on available land.
Moya highlighted the need to educate communities on protecting trees and fighting climate change.
