Cango Wildlife Ranch has been honoured with an international conservation award at the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos for using Artificial Intelligence to support environmental sustainability. The ranch employs AI to monitor wildlife, manage habitats, and improve conservation outcomes in the Little Karoo.Conservationist Dr Garrett Eriksen represented the ranch at the awards, showcasing its efforts to protect species and promote sustainable practices.

Code4Mzansi is calling on South African students, start-ups, and tech entrepreneurs to develop cloud and AI solutions that tackle real-world problems. Participants complete online training, receive mentorship and development tools, and spend three months building their projects. The competition, led by Huawei in partnership with the Department of Small Business Development and several universities, has drawn 353 teams of over 1,000 participants. Winners will share nearly R1 million in prizes and gain valuable industry exposure to grow their digital businesses.

The SA Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind will host its annual Family Fun Day next week Sunday, in Paulshof, Johannesburg. The event raises funds and awareness to support guide dogs and the services they provide for people with visual impairments. Families can watch assistance dogs demonstrate their skills, join blindfolded walks, attend arena activities, explore the Kids Zone, and take guided tours of the facilities. Guests can also participate in the Blind Navigator Challenge and enjoy live music.
